“The Home should be the treasure chest for living. ” – Le Corbusier
When was the last time you moved house? Moving to somewhere new or renovating your current home can lead to a plethora of positive changes to your life!
You just have to believe that you get to rebuild your life as much as you rebuild your current or new home. Sometimes, arranging your house to become clutter-free can also make it a ‘new’ home!
Decluttering your home benefits you mentally, physically and emotionally. Imagine going home to a messy desk as compared to an organized and clean desk. The former requires you to go through the mental barrier to declutter before being able to start work. Besides, it induces anxiety when you wish to look for something important. Whereas, the latter is ready for you to jump right into work. That increases productivity right away with time saved and accessibility to what you need.
Physically, the absence of clutter increases safety. Tripping hazards are eliminated and waste is minimized. Dust and insects thrive in messy conditions. Declutter and you significantly reduce such undesirables. Next, if things are kept simple, you naturally have lesser things to worry about. Why not apply that to your house? Keep necessary things, throw the rest you hoarded. This liberates you, not just your living space.
Life is too short to not sleep in the room that you dream of figuratively and literally. If you have always wanted the walls to be gold, paint them gold. If you have always wanted that big wardrobe with your clothes colour-coded, build it.
Ensure you walk into that space knowing that it expresses you as an individual. Apply such similar principles in knowing what you desire in your room to what you want in life. You’d realised that it is the same determined, focused attitude to attain your life goals.
In short, a new home enables you to have new perspectives or discover newfound preferences. Even if it is not within your budget, then aim to de-clutter your home. It is not just easy on the eyes, but also on the mind.
Build your dream room for it would be a mood-changer. It is a visualization turned into reality. Imagine how it would be like if you extrapolate the way you got this dream room to actualizing your life goals. You would be in for a lifetime of happiness and fulfilment.
